It's really quite hard to write something profound every month in such a small space, which is why I never succeed. Actually, at three-o-clock in the morning, it's pretty hard to write something profound in any size space. Not that anyone ever reads this crap. Anyway, I've now successfully wasted about 20% of the space not only not writing anything profound, but not writing about anything at all...

So I'm writing this (at three in the morning) a week before the November elections. Ballot Measure 31, aimed straight at the throat of the adult industry in Oregon like a knife in the hands of O.J. Simpson (cheap but effective metaphor), is running dead even in the tracking polls. Judging from the contributions of the adult business owners (except for the adult video stores), most don't want to think about it. If it passes they 'll have to. If you are an adult business owner in a city outside the Portland area, you'd better be prepared to immediately start fighting your own city council zoning laws. And if you're an adult business owner in Portland, you'd better hope that Gail Shibley and Erik Sten win their respective city council races. Because without both of their strong free expression beliefs and the protection of the current Oregon Constitution, the Portland City Council will be stacked against you and the zoning legislation and persecution will begin. Either way it goes, those adult business owners who have contributed a lot of time and money (or both) to fight this obscene ballot measure know that we have done our best. Those of you who haven't contributed due to chronic brain freeze: Piss off. If it does pass I hope they go after you first. Hope you have a good, expensive attorney...

Now here's something profound: Mina is on the cover this month, showing off her magic little booty. You can see her at one of my own favorite hangouts, Sassy's Bar & Grill, three or four nights a week. Seeya next month. Maybe...
