Gentlemen's Club & Strip Club News It's new, it's Greek, it's the Pallas out SE Powell way. This complete transformation has come from within the Old (Testament) of Club Genesis. I think Pallas means something in Greek. Like "hooters." Go there and ask 'em. In case you've been hiding under a rock somewhere the last two months, it's your last chance guys and girls for the Exotic magazine Cover Girl Contest at Jody's fabulous bar and grill. On Thursday, January 4th, the last contest to qualify for the finals will be open to all dancers. No fees. No hassles. Bring your friends because judging is determined solely on the basis of rowdy audience response. And then, the following week on Thursday, January 11th, the grand finale featuring eight, count 'em, scintillating finalists will be held. These dancers will do anything to get on the cover of Exotic, so, unless you've scheduled surgery for that day, we suggest you be there. Thursday nights at Jody's will remain a big attraction with the reincarnation of their famous, traditional Thursday Night Dance Contests from here on out. Wildcat's is hosting a huge contest of their own. The semi-finals of Miss Oregon Gentlemen's Club 2001 will be held every Friday in January starting Friday, January 12th. Wildcat's will also be hosting a big Superbowl Party on Sunday, January 28th. Adult video and magazine star Sadie Sexton will be featuring at Stars Cabaret in Beaverton from Tuesday, January 23rd to Thursday, January 25th; and at Stars Cabaret in Salem on Friday and Saturday January 26th and 27th. Stars Party Bus to Mt. Hood will be taking off with a bunch of ski-bunnies on Saturday, January 13th. Yum. Ski-bunnies... The Boom Boom Room will be holding a re-scheduled $800 Best Ass in PDX Contest on Monday, January 15th. It was cancelled last month due to snow and ice, but this time nothin's gonna stop 'em... The Boom Boom Room will also be hosting Gallery's 2001 Girl Next Door of the Year, Lauren Bates on Saturday, January 6th from 6pm to 10pm. And just when you thought the Covergirl Contests were over, we're handing out another cover and more big cash for the Big Dog Covergirl Contest to be held over the next few months at several clubs around town booked by Big Dog. Round one starts Wednesday, January 17th at Club 205, and continues on Friday, January 19th at Dillingers, Monday, January 22nd at Soobie's, Friday, January 26th at Pop-A-Top and Monday, January 29 back at Soobie's. Next month's round two clubs will include Sassy's, Club 205, Hideaway Pub, Double Dribble, Sugar Shack, Dancers, 420 Club and Soobie's. Rooster's is Biker friendly and bringing you live music this month on January 13th and the 20th. "Radar Love," baby. The fascinatingly voyeuristic PollyEsther's Latex & Leather night is Thursday, January 11th. Deacon X's monthly Fetish Night is Sunday, January 21st at Berbati's. And the weekly Sinferno Cabaret at Dante's will feature the local favorite band Jollymon on Sunday, January 21st. Other featured acts this month at Sinferno Cabaret include Miss Nude Oregon 1995 Orchid, the Dragon Tribe Fire Troupe and Adult Film Star Cricket. Adult Store News D.K. Wilds in Beaverton, for all you suburban Girl Next Door fans, will host Gallery Magazine's 2001 Girl Next Door of the Year Lauren Bates from 6:00 till 8:00 PM on January 19th. Check out the new Taboo Video down on MLK Boulevard and their spankin' new buddy booths. You walk into the room, close the door, stick your money in, and the giant TV starts playing whatever movie you want. Next to you is a large window. You hit the fog/defog button, and suddenly you can see the person on the other side--that is, if they have also defogged. Voyeurism in it's purest form... Gallery's 2001 Girl Next Door of the Year From Portland The international Gallery Magazine of New York, NY, has crowned Portland's own Lauren Bates as their world famous Girl Next Door of the Year 2001. The 20-year-old office manager will receive $25,000 plus her face on the cover of the January 2nd issue (plus much more of her inside!). As fate would have it, the low-esteemed editor of this rag will be appearing (in print) right after Lauren's layout in the January issue. That's right. Lauren Bates and Gary Aker (who spells his last name Akre, to be arty) will share the pages of Gallery side by side as Gallery publishes an excerpt from his novel in their Erotica section. It's like Lauren's layout ends and Gary's story begins on the very next page. Right after her last butt shot. Wow. Of course, Lauren's what we're really excited about, not some stupid writer. So, we want you to know that Lauren will be at the Boom Boom Room on Saturday, January 6th from 6:00 till 10:00 pm and at D.K. Wild's on Friday, January 19th from 6:00 till 8:00 pm signing magazine covers and glossies and saying high, handing out tee-shirts and hanging out so you all can get to know her better. She is one very cute, curvy, luscious, all natural babe. "I'm so surprised and flattered to hear I am a runaway winner because when I tried my hand at clothes modeling as a teenager I was told I would never make it unless I got a nose job. Well look at me now!" Lauren boasts to all the naysayers. "I've won the...photo contest absolutely surgery free from top to bottom." Almost makes me weepy. But wait: there's many more appearances by Lauren around town this month as she kicks off her nationwide tour. Peterson's magazine and convenience stores will host her on January 11th from 11:30 AM till 1:30 PM at their Morrison store and 4:30 till 6:00 PM at their Yamhill store. On January 12th, Peterson's will offer Lauren from 11:30 till 1:30 PM at their Fourth Avenue store and from 4:30 PM till 6:00 PM at their Washington store. No word yet on whether Mr. Aker will also be there signing copies, but don't count on it.
