Yes indeedy, it’s satisfying to close the book on two very rough years! Just like 2020, 2021 continued bringing our industry a range of challenges in the form of closures, limited capacities, and other operating restrictions. That’s why we were especially delighted to start the new year by welcoming two new clubs to the area!
82nd Strip (7737 S.E. 82nd Avenue) and Club Detour (215 W. Burnside Street) are now open and ready to razzle-dazzle you for the new year. So, to hell with that New Year’s resolution you made to stop drinking because we both know that shit ain’t happening... No better places to break it than these brand new clubs!
And speaking of places to get your 2022 off to an epic start, don’t miss Dante’s Sinferno Cabaret every Sunday, including January 2! This is where the entire industry parties since we are all busy on Fridays and Saturdays!
No shortage of birthdays for the new year, with Mary Jane, Kristine and Nina all celebrating their special day at Reveal Lounge on Friday, January 7. Then, Saturday, January 8, we have Teal’s Birthday Party at Guilty Pleasures. Happy birthday to all of you!
Social Suicide is the newest monthly industry night that everyone is talking about. If you haven’t already checked it out, you are late! This month it will be on Tuesday, January 18, and it’s a very special night—Axel’s Black Parade Birthday Party! See page 46 for more information.
Wrapping up our January industry events is Stars Cabaret’s January Beach Party in Salem on Saturday, January 29. The perfect way to take a break from winter’s cold, rainy nights!
Returning after a two-year, "pandemic" hiatus, this year’s pageant boasted the largest turnout of any before it. The night was filled with many outstanding performances, and it’s hard to imagine the bar being raised, yet again!
A special congratulations goes to Miss Exotic Oregon 2022, Phoenix Rising, representing the Acropolis and Devils Point! Way to go, girl — you absolutely killed it!
