Yay—it’s May! The month named after the Greek goddess and nymph Maia—her symbol being flowers quite fitting indeed, as blossoming commences from what once was a seed. Fresh beginnings of summer are on the horizon! From May Day to Star Wars Day, Cinco de Mayo, and Memorial Day (everyone’s favorite long weekend because it kicks off with Polerotica finals, of course), May is certainly a worthy month to celebrate. And with all shameless self-promotion aside, there’s plenty going on in the industry this month!
Starting at X Exotic Lounge downtown, May the 4th Be With You for Xotica-Go-Go on...yeah, Thursday, May 4, and every Thursday throughout May! Then on Friday, May 5, Stars Cabaret (Bridgeport) is throwing a Cinco de Mayo party. And while we’re talking about Stars Cabaret, let’s thank them for taking care of our active military, veterans, and first responders! All throughout May, it’s Military Appreciation Month—these folks won’t pay any cover charge and can enjoy food and drink specials. They go even further with a special veterans appreciation night at Stars Cabaret in Salem on Saturday, June 27. Thank you for your service!
What about industry contests, you may ask? We have two such offerings for you, my beloved connoisseurs of the fleshy arts. DJ Dick Hennessy’s 5th Annual Motorbooty Twerking Competition kicks off on Saturday, May 6, at The Venue Gentlemen’s Club. Make sure to check out all the dates on page 36!

Well..well..well...it’s hard to believe we’re already at the halfway point of the contest! If you haven’t made it to one of the qualifier rounds so far, you’re definitely missing some fantastic performances and industry moments!
